Setting up my watercolor “station” under a swaying palm tree on the sunny & stormy shores of Poipu Beach Park, Kauai. A panoply of color, especially on Sunday, what with all the beach goers. The color of the aquamarine Pacific is mesmerizing & the clouds as they march across the expansive sky, dazzling. One minute it’s rain showers & the next bright warm sunshine.
The view from our lanai…the vast Pacific with its ever-changing moods.

save the bees
Saturday, August 1, 2015
Bees are responsible for the pollination of the majority of our food crops. Without these essential pollinators our food supply would be severely threatened. The bees are in trouble–honeybee hives have been dying out in increasingly alarming numbers. What can we do to help? One way is to plant bee-friendly gardens abundant with native flowers, fruits & vegetables. Check out the Honeybee Conservancy here for more info.
These letterpress prints are available for purchase. Printed in an edition of 50 on tree-free, archival paper. Size: 8×10″. Finished with Sennelier watercolor (made with honey for added brilliance & smoothness :)

provence prints • letterpress + aquarelle
Thursday, June 25, 2015
My family has been returning to Provence every summer for over twenty years. With each visit I make a sketch a day, and try to capture the experience of this special place. Everywhere you look, there is something eye-catching and inspiring. From the distinctive fabrics & pottery, to the bounty of delicious fruits & vegetables in the local markets, to the colors & textures of the unique Provençal landscape, there is something to feast your eyes upon. This collection of letterpress prints is a result of my sojourn in the Bouches-du-Rhône, an enchanted part of the world.
The Mon Cœur est en Provence series of prints was designed & printed in my Berkeley studio.
Handprinted on my vintage printing press in an edition of 15 on Fabriano Artistico paper.
Finished with Sennelier watercolor and…
…sun-dried in the summer sunshine of St. Paul de Vence.

edible alphabet show
Thursday, March 5, 2015
The Edible Alphabet prints are hanging right now at BUCCI’S in Emeryville until May 2. Printed in an edition of 20 on Fabriano Artistico paper — the 13th century Italian paper mill that once made paper for Renaissance artisans, Michelangelo and more recently, the Italian lire.
A HUGE thank you & debt of gratitude to my dear friend & letterpress colleague, Richard Seibert.
Remember to eat your fruits & veggies :)

Happy New Year!

Freshly designed & letterpress printed business cards for Alex Beckman’s new company, Elastic Holdings. We didn’t set out to have the typeface be the logo, it just sort of evolved that way by process of elimination.
playful pup note cards
Tuesday, November 11, 2014
Hot off the press: reprints of Vintage Kennel Club note cards, stickers + envelopes. The playful pup captures the vibe of this place–a working farm/ranch where you can board your dog (and rest assured your pup will play until his/her heart’s content :) AND stock up on olive oil, wine and other (human) treats from the surrounding area.<< Previous Posts
